Terms & Conditions
Last updated 5 September 2026
These terms apply to work carried out by Mend Your Home, 49 Downland Drive, Crawley, West Sussex RH11 8QZ. They are written to be readable rather than impenetrable. If anything is unclear, ask us before booking.
Quotes and pricing
- Quotes for planned work are fixed and cover the parts, labour and work described in the quote. Nothing is added afterwards unless the job itself changes.
- A quote may need to be revised if, once work begins, we find something that could not reasonably have been identified at survey, such as concealed damage or non-compliant existing pipework. If that happens we stop, explain, and agree the revised price with you before continuing.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Material prices move, so we cannot hold them indefinitely.
- Emergency call-outs are not fixed price, because the fault cannot be known before inspection. We give you the price before starting work.
Guarantees
- Manufacturer guarantees on new boilers are provided by the manufacturer, not by us. Length depends on the model, the installation and correct system protection, and can be up to 18 years on selected boilers. We register the guarantee on your behalf.
- Manufacturer guarantees require the appliance to be serviced annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Missing a service is the most common reason a claim is declined, and that is outside our control.
- Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion. This covers our labour. It does not cover parts, which carry their own manufacturer warranty, and it does not cover faults caused by misuse, third party interference, or unrelated failures elsewhere in the system.
Payment
- Payment is due on completion unless we have agreed different terms in writing.
- Larger installations may require a deposit toward materials, which will be stated in the quote.
- We accept bank transfer, debit and credit card, and cash.
- Trade and letting agent accounts may be offered agreed payment terms.
Access and site conditions
- You agree to provide safe access to the work area at the agreed time.
- If we cannot gain access at a booked appointment and have not been told in advance, we may charge a reasonable call-out fee to cover the lost slot.
- Please clear the work area where you reasonably can. We cover floors and clean up after ourselves, but we cannot be responsible for items left in the immediate work area.
Cancellation
- Where you are a consumer and the contract was agreed away from our premises, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
- If you ask us to begin work within that 14 day period and then cancel, we may charge for work already carried out and materials already supplied.
- Please give as much notice as you can for a cancelled appointment so we can offer the slot to someone else.
Our obligations
- All gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers.
- Work is carried out with reasonable care and skill, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- We notify Building Regulations where required and provide you with the certificate.
- We carry public liability insurance. Details available on request.
Limitations
We are not liable for pre-existing faults we were not engaged to address, for failures elsewhere in a system unrelated to our work, or for consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Complaints
If something is not right, tell us and we will put it right. Contact us on 07960 066300 or info@mendyourhome.com. We would far rather fix a problem than have you live with it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
