Is it a plumbing emergency, or can it wait?
Not every plumbing problem needs an emergency visit. These are usually fine to book in the normal way:

While you wait for the emergency plumber
Once the water is off, a few things limit the damage and the cost:
- Turn off the boiler if the problem involves the heating or a burst pipe, so it is not trying to heat or refill a system that is losing water.
- Protect your belongings. Move furniture, electronics and valuables away from the water, and put down buckets and towels.

What counts as a plumbing emergency?
Anything actively causing damage or leaving you without essentials. Burst pipes, water coming through a ceiling, an active leak you cannot isolate, no heating or hot water in cold weather, and any smell of gas. If you are unsure, call and we will tell you honestly whether it can wait until tomorrow.
What should I do before the emergency plumber arrives?
Turn off the water at the main stopcock, usually under the kitchen sink or near the front door, by turning it clockwise. Open your cold taps to drain the pipes. If water is near anything electrical, switch off at the consumer unit. If you smell gas, do not touch any switches, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 first.
Do you charge more for weekends?
We are open seven days a week, including Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm, and weekend work is charged at the same rates as weekdays. Emergency call-outs are quoted per job and you always get the figure before we start.
How quickly can you get to me?
It depends on where you are and what is already booked. Crawley, Horsham, Horley, Copthorne and East Grinstead are closest to base and get the fastest response. Call us and we will give you a straight answer on timing rather than a vague promise.
I smell gas. What do I do right now?
Leave the property immediately. Do not switch anything on or off, including lights, and do not use your phone inside. Once outside, call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. They will make the supply safe. Call us afterwards on 07960 066300 and we will handle the repair and recommissioning as Gas Safe registered engineers.
