Contact details, such as your name, phone number, email address and property address or postcode.
Enquiry details, meaning the information you give us about the work you need, including any photographs, documents or quotes you choose to send.
Job records, including work carried out, parts fitted, certificates issued and invoices.
Website usage data, such as pages viewed and approximate location, collected in aggregate. See our Cookie Policy.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, and steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract.
To carry out work you have booked. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
To meet legal and safety obligations. Gas Safe registration requires us to retain records of gas work, and Building Regulations notifications are a legal requirement. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
To keep accounting records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
To send service reminders, such as when an annual boiler service or gas safety certificate is due. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. You can opt out at any time.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do not use it for anything other than the purposes set out above.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only where necessary, with:

Gas Safe Register, where a gas installation must be notified.
Manufacturers, where we register a guarantee on your behalf.
Our accountants, for bookkeeping and tax purposes.
Service providers who host this website and handle form submissions on our behalf, under contract and only as instructed.
Your letting agent or landlord, where they instructed the work.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become jobs: up to 12 months.
Job and invoice records: 6 years, as required for tax purposes.
Gas safety records and certificates: at least 2 years, and generally longer where the guarantee period requires it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
Ask us to delete it, where we are not legally required to keep it.
Object to processing based on legitimate interests, including service reminders.
Ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances.
Request your data in a portable format.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections to this website and restricted access to job records. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your information as we would want ours treated.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
