Boilers
One fixed price, one clean install, and a guarantee that outlasts most people's time in the house.
What you get
The right type depends on how many bathrooms you have, how much hot water you use at once and the system you have now. We recommend one at survey and explain why.
A combi heats water straight from the mains when you turn on a tap, so there is no hot water cylinder and no cold water tank in the loft. It saves space, usually costs less to install and gives you hot water on demand. It suits smaller homes where one tap or shower tends to run at a time.
A system boiler heats water and stores it in a cylinder, so several taps and showers can run at once without the flow dropping away. It suits homes with more bathrooms and higher hot water demand, and it works with solar thermal panels.
Also called conventional or heat-only boilers. A regular boiler works with a hot water cylinder and a cold water tank, usually in the loft. It suits larger homes with an existing traditional system, and homes where the mains water pressure is low.
Our guide on how to choose the right boiler goes further into sizing and the trade-offs between the three.
Usually not. If your radiators and pipework are in good condition, the new boiler connects to the system you already have. We check everything at survey and only recommend upgrades that make a real difference to how the system performs, such as a radiator too small for its room or controls that waste heat.
We install all the major brands, including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Viessmann and Alpha. The right one for you depends on your home, your hot water needs and your budget. We explain the pros and cons of each option, and you choose.
Book the first boiler service for a year after the installation date, then keep to an annual service. It keeps the boiler running efficiently, catches small faults early and is a condition of the manufacturer guarantee.
How we do it
We look at your radiators, your pipework, your flue route and your water pressure. Boilers quoted over the phone are boilers quoted wrong.
One price. It includes the boiler, the fittings, the labour, the system clean and taking the old one away.
We flush and clean before the new boiler goes on, then fit a magnetic filter and add inhibitor. This is what keeps the warranty valid.
Most swaps are a day. Back boiler and combi conversions run to two or three. We register the guarantee and notify Building Regulations for you.
Before we leave you will know how to set the timer, adjust the flow temperature and top up the pressure.

Questions
A straight swap in the same position is usually one day. Moving the boiler to a different room, or converting from a conventional system to a combi, is typically two to three days because there is pipework, tank removal and making good involved.
Manufacturers extend their longest guarantees only through accredited installers, and only when the system is properly protected. That means the system is cleaned before installation, a magnetic filter is fitted, inhibitor is added and the boiler is serviced annually. We handle all of that and register the guarantee on your behalf. Terms vary by manufacturer and by model.
If your existing system has sludge, yes, and it is not an upsell. Fitting a new boiler onto a dirty system is one of the most common reasons a manufacturer refuses a warranty claim. We assess the system during the survey and tell you honestly whether it needs a full powerflush or a chemical clean.
Yes, removal and responsible disposal of the old boiler is included in the fixed price, along with any old tanks and cylinders if we are converting you to a combi.
Usually yes. Moving a boiler into a loft, a garage or a utility room is common, and we will cost the additional pipework and flue routing into the fixed quote so there is no surprise.
Yes. Every gas boiler installation is notified to Building Regulations through the Gas Safe scheme, and you receive the certificate. If you sell the property, your solicitor will ask for it.
