Rules and eligibility for the Mend Your Home profit-sharing scheme
Last Updated: July 2026
These terms and conditions govern your participation in the Mend Your Home Referral Programme (the "Programme"). By submitting a referral through our website, you agree to be bound by these terms.
The Programme is operated by Mend Your Home.
To participate as a referrer, you must be:
You cannot refer:
Prohibited Participants: Employees, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers of Mend Your Home are strictly prohibited from participating. Commercial lead-generation agencies and marketing firms using automated systems or cold-calling are also prohibited. (Note: This exclusion does not apply to individuals or businesses submitting genuine maintenance requests on behalf of their clients, provided the person financially responsible for the invoice has authorized the work).
Referrals must be submitted via the official Referral Portal on our website (mendyourhome.com/dashboard.html) before the referred customer books their job. Verbal referrals or referrals submitted after a job has commenced will not be eligible for a reward.
Rewards are paid out of our profit margin and are strictly based on the labour value of the completed job. Materials and parts do not count towards the tier calculation.
Mend Your Home's calculation of the labour value and the applicable tier is final.
A referral reward only becomes payable when:
Once all the above conditions are met, the reward will be paid to the referrer within 14 calendar days.
Third-Party Payout Restriction: For fraud prevention and anti-money laundering compliance, referral rewards can only be paid to an account that legally belongs to the registered referrer. We will strictly not issue payments to third-party accounts, spouses, friends, or alternate names under any circumstances.
If the referred customer cancels the job, does not pay, or requests a refund, no referral reward will be paid. Furthermore, if a payment is charged back, disputed, or refunded after a reward has been paid, the associated referral reward is immediately voided and must be repaid to Mend Your Home.
You must obtain the explicit verbal or written consent of the person you are referring before submitting their personal details (name, phone number, address) to Mend Your Home. You must not spam, cold-call, or aggressively market our services to people you do not know. If we receive complaints that a referrer is acting unethically, we reserve the right to ban them from the Programme and void any pending rewards.
By participating in the Programme, you consent to Mend Your Home and our secure third-party infrastructure providers (such as Google Cloud / Firebase) storing your personal data (including your name, email, phone number, and payment details) for the sole purpose of managing your portal account and administering payouts.
You also confirm that you have informed the referred person that Mend Your Home will contact them regarding plumbing/heating services. For more information on how we handle data, please read our Privacy Policy.
Strict Privacy Policy (GDPR Blind Rule): Due to strict GDPR and data protection laws, we cannot and will not share any details regarding the status of a referred job with the referrer. This means we cannot tell you why a job was cancelled, why it was voided, how much the customer was quoted, or provide any details about the customer's property or payment status. Referrers must not contact Mend Your Home asking for updates on specific customers or reasons for a voided reward, as we are legally prohibited from answering.
Authorisation: If you're referring a job at a rented or managed property, just make sure you have the authority to instruct the work, or that the person responsible for the bill (e.g., the landlord) has given you the go-ahead. If an invoice is later disputed because proper authorisation wasn't in place, the referral reward unfortunately can't be paid.
Being Open With the People You Refer: Transparency is at the heart of everything we do, and we ask the same of our referrers. Whether you're a friend helping out a mate, a fellow tradesperson recommending us to a client, or a colleague passing on our details, we simply ask that you let the person you're referring know that you'll receive a small reward from Mend Your Home if the job goes ahead. A quick mention is all it takes. Being upfront builds trust and keeps everything above board for everyone involved.
Our Referral Programme exists because we believe in growing through community, not through paying big advertising companies. Instead of handing our budget to millionaire corporations, we'd rather share it with the real people around us who help spread the word. It's a win for the person you refer, a win for you, and a win for us. That's how a community should work.
Your Responsibility: As a referrer, it's your responsibility to be transparent with the people you refer and to make sure you're acting in line with any professional standards that apply to your role. Mend Your Home isn't able to manage individual disclosure on your behalf, so we trust our referrers to keep things open and honest. It's better for everyone that way.
Only one referral reward will be paid per new customer. If two people refer the same customer, the reward goes to the person who submitted the referral first via the portal.
Non-Qualifying Jobs: Jobs funded by third-party insurance claims, government grants, warranty call-outs, or heavily discounted promotional work do not qualify for a referral reward.
Participation in the Mend Your Home Referral Programme is a privilege, not a right. We reserve the absolute right to cancel, suspend, or terminate any individual's membership or access to the portal at any time, for any reason, and without prior notice or liability.
Furthermore, Mend Your Home reserves the right to amend these terms, alter the reward tiers, or terminate the Referral Programme entirely at any time. We are strictly protected against any claims for lost earnings or damages resulting from the modification or cancellation of an account or the programme.
We operate a strict zero-tolerance policy towards abuse. This includes, but is not limited to: submitting false leads, attempting to manipulate the tier system, spamming individuals, or demonstrating abusive, aggressive, or unprofessional behaviour towards Mend Your Home staff or customers. Any such behaviour will result in an immediate lifetime ban and the absolute forfeiture of all pending or future rewards. We will always enforce this strictly to protect our business and customers in accordance with the law.
Participating in this Programme does not make you an employee, agent, or contractor of Mend Your Home. You are acting as an independent individual.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
